Hmm...I'm not really into any new fandoms right now. I'm kinda hoping one comes with the fall. Or maybe I'll finally watch Teen Wolf and it will suck me in. But right now, the show I'm most into is Due South, which I've been revisiting lately. I'm totally a Fraser/Ray K shipper there. It's one of the few shows where I really, really love the dominant pairing. (I'm not opposed to dominant pairings on principle; I just rarely seem to fall for them unless they're canon.) Why? I suppose it's the usual combination of chemistry and and just...being able to see how it could work. Seeing how they could be good for each other. I could point to a dozen canon moments--holding hands in an alley, Ray K asking Fraser if Fraser finds him attractive, running off to Canada together in the finale--but honestly, I don't know how I pick the pairings I do.

SG-1, Sam Carter/Cameron Mitchell. I never considered it until I read A million years into the sky and completely fell in love with the idea. Even though it's kind of a background pairing in the story. So I wasn't exactly talked into it--I'm not sure I've ever had that happen--but it was certainly someone (via fic) who changed my mind.

It was either Mulder/Scully from The X-Files or Nick/Janette from Forever Knight. I honestly can't remember which I fell for first. (It's possible I had some vague preferences toward canon ships before that, but those were the first ones that really drove me to go look for more than I got from the show.)

There are lots of shows I watch without shipping, but it's usually ships that drive me into full-on fandom. Let's see...
Earth: Final Conflict is definitely one. I'm not active in it now, but I used to write for it and everything I wrote was gen.
Most police procedurals too, but I'm not generally fannish about them. I have written Life and Criminal Minds and I don't really have a ship for either, so they might count too.

(also: I just noticed your tag! LOL)

Probably not. I don't think I'm well enough known in any fandom to have any influence, and I haven't done a lot of cracky stuff.
(:D They do, though! It's all Disney's fault.)

Any of the big ones that gets lots of fic, I think. Because I love good fic, but I have trouble reading it if I dislike the pairing. So McShep or Fraser/Vecchio. Or Charlie/Dani (Life) or Reese/Finch (because at least 90% of Person of Interest stories are written for that pairing).

I can't think of any specific fandoms off the top of my head, but it has made me more aware of certain social justice-related elements that sometimes detract from my enjoyment of shows (or at least make me feel guilty for enjoying them), and while overall greater awareness is probably a good thing, sometimes I wish I could just turn my brain off.

In general, I'm pretty good at finding a little corner of people I like in any given fandom, and mostly avoiding the rest. I love my flist. I love Team Enabler. There are corners of just about every fandom that I try very hard to stay out of.
I don't know that I really have a current fandom--I haven't been producing much, which is how I usually measure it. If I were to talk about Due South--since that's mostly where my head is right now--I'd say that I quite like most of the people in it (albeit from a distance, since I'm reading rather than interacting). However, reminders of the Ray Wars pop up fairly frequently, and the bitterness there is remarkable and sad, and makes me kind of glad that I wasn't around when the fandom was really active.
