AO3 Meme

I'm working on an actual post, but in the meantime, have a meme that I've seen floating around here and there.

1. Most hits: Watching and Waiting, with 8,965 hits. It's a story from The Mentalist featuring Jane/Cho, which I guess is a popular enough pairing to convince people to click on it despite the terrible title. Or maybe it's the use of the "undercover as a couple" trope that's pulling them in. And to be fair, I do have a weakness for that trope myself.

2. Second-most kudos: Faith Like a Stone, Sinking Fast, with 504 kudos. This was a gen crossover between Supernatural and Criminal Minds, set way back in the fifth season of both shows, where Castiel shows up and tries to convince the BAU team that something's wrong with the world. I still like the concept, so I'm glad it was well received, but I suspect if I reread it now, I'd be doing a fair bit of editing.

3. Third-most comment threads: This one is a tie between Eight Takes on Cameron Mitchell, Air Force Officer in Exile, a remix of The Year That Was by [personal profile] bluflamingo, and One Pin Short, a gen Forever Knight story written for the 2015 FK Fic Fest, both with a glorious twelve comment threads. I have to admit that I don't remember either story particularly well, but I suspect the fests they were written far may be largely responsible for the number of comments. Forever Knight was my very first fandom, and Stargate--and especially John Sheppard/Cameron Mitchell--dominated my fannish life for a long time, so I'm glad to see both make the list.

4. Fourth-most bookmarks: One of These Mornings, with 31 bookmarks. This is another story from The Mentalist, this one featuring Jane/Mashburn, which is a bit of a rare pairing in that fandom. I'm rather fond of this one, though I have to resist the urge to tinker every time I read it.

5. Fifth-most words: Vacant Horizon, with 8,799 words. This is a crossover between the Daniel Craig Bond movies and The Mummy that I wrote a few years ago for Crossworks. It's a bit rushed in spots, but I think I did a decent job of bringing together those particular fandoms. Canon pairings only as I wasn't sure what my recipient preferred, though I might have gone a different direction if I'd been writing purely for myself. And there's also a spot of time travel, because what other option was there?

And the stories with the fewest words are some drabbles I wrote for the 2012 Forever Knight Fic Fest: three of them, at 100 words each.

I learned about some other fandom interests of yours by reading this post. ;D
