Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a good holiday, if you celebrated any of the recent holidays. Mine were typical: turkey and family and gifts on Christmas, and then Chinese food and slightly less family on New Year's Day. It was nice.
My week of reception temp work ended up being very quiet, which gave me time to read some Yuletide fic. I got THREE Intelligence stories, two in the main collection from my assigned author, and a Madness ficlet from someone else. So, so awesome!
Mom Knows Best (4414 words) is a Gabriel/Riley fic that picks up where the series finale leaves off, and I Carved a Block of Wood (2342 words) is a pre-series look at Gabriel & Shen's relationship not long before Riley comes on the scene. They're both by
shetiger, and they're both awesome and worth reading if you liked the show. And Dear George (332 words, gen) by misura is a cute look at some other possible uses of the chip, and very, very Nelson.
My story was Tidings of Comfort and Joy (2735 words, gen), a Believe story focusing on Tate and Bo, with appearances from Winter and Channing.
This weekend I'm working on
gameofcards challenges and
fandom_stocking. I'm also debating whether to sign up for
shipswap. I do have a few rare pairings I like right now, but they mostly involve single-episode guest stars, which might be a bit difficult to match on. (Seriously. How did I end up shipping THREE pairings involving characters who only show up once?) So I might skip it. I haven't decided yet.

Congrats on a successful Yuletide! So glad you got lots of Intelligence stuff. :D
I've filled exactly 2 stockings and 2 insmallpackages. I'm kinda... sucking at it this year.
Exchanges! I've never done shipswap and am not sure if I have enough rare ships to sign up, but I'll nominate a couple things and see how it goes. Single episode or crossovers - which would be harder to match on?
*sigh*
Space swap opened! I know with temping and job hunts, I sort of just took off with it on my own, but you're welcome to dive into whatever (modding or signup or lurking... whatever.)

I was very happy. There were actually six Intelligence stories total, which is pretty good for Yuletide.
I haven't filled any stockings yet, so...yeah, I know how it goes. I still have good intentions, but we'll see.
You could always try shipswap! I think it's the only exchange open to crossover pairings, actually. It's one of the things I like about it.
I am considering space swap sign ups too, but haven't decided yet. After all my defaults in the fall, I really don't want to over-commit. I might, after all, get another job. :D

Congratulations on your Yuletide bounty! I see that your story recipient came through with many specific comments as well as a general thanks, which is wonderful; I'm glad that you found the sweet spot.
Good luck with all your exciting activities!

Thank you for your help brainstorming my Yuletide story! I really appreciate it. And speaking of that, I realized after I posted this that I forgot to edit in names after authors were revealed. That's now been corrected.
