Heh. I don't mind a bit of proselytising--it's not a show anyone has ever tried really hard to convince me to watch before. Mostly, from everything I've heard, I suspect it'll be too dark and grim for me. Like, DS9 gets dark at times, but not for long stretches. Angel S4 was dark, but not really grim. Buffy Season 6 was probably the worst in terms of unrelenting joylessness. When I watch a TV show, I need heroes and I need friendships and I need (most) characters to eventually be okay.
It's part of the reason I keep putting of watching my Farscape DVDs, to be honest, on top of my reluctance to start a heavily arced show without knowing I can make it all the way through. Though at least with Farscape I'm spoiled enough to know John and Aeryn get some kind of happily ever after.
