- I'm having trouble getting into Criminal Minds this season, and I'm not sure why. The loss of my favourite character? Has it just gone on too long? I still love the characters in theory, but I'm finding I really don't care much whether I catch the episodes.

- The Mentalist has been pretty good this season. Not as dark as I was afraid it might go after last season, and there have been a couple of really good episodes. But I still find Red John's apparent omnipotence a little grating. They're building him up so much I don't see how they can possibly deliver. Or maybe they don't plan to.

- I'm randomly rewatching old Flashpoint episodes while waiting for the new ones to air each week. I'd forgotten about all the Spike & Sam friendship moments. Spike dragging Sam out for drinks while Jules is on her date. Spike betting on Sam beating Jules in practice! I mean, I was rooting for Jules, but it was still cute. (I'm kind of annoyed by the moments when they try to pretend they aren't Canadian, though. They wear flags on their uniforms, so it's not like it's a secret, but then they go around talking about things like "federal offences." The criminal code is under the jurisdiction of the federal government! They're all "federal offences"!)

- Apparently they've decided to stop showing Nikita here on any channel I actually get. Although since it was on at the same time as Fringe and Haven, it's not like I was watching it live anyway. I shall have to resort to alternate means.

- Speaking of Fringe, I'm enjoying it more than I thought I might this season. I wasn't sure about the premise, but it's working out okay. Yay for having the whole team back! I'm not entirely sure yet about the direction Haven is going in, but at least it's going somewhere. We'll see.

I should really watch them as they air in the U.S. so I don't have to worry about spoilers. But I'm not actually that concerned about Haven spoilers, honestly. I'm not feeling that invested.

I'm the same re: Criminal Minds. It just...hasn't been good this season. I think it's a combo of the team dynamic being off (Blake is fine character-wise but she really doesn't gel with the others. Especially compared to Prentiss, who had really close friendships with everyone.) and the cases feeling really repetitive.

Nikita! Fringe! I don't know how I feel about Haven, either, though I'm an episode or two behind.

I think you're right that the team dynamic is off--I like Blake, but she doesn't really fit yet. The best dynamic so far is with Strauss, who of course we rarely see. Plus it's hard for them to do much that's new with the cases. It's a little sad, but I think it might be time for the show to end.

I have this sense that I may not have an actual opinion about Haven until the end of the season, when I can look back.

TBQH, I think the cases have been less than stellar since about half-way through the 5th season (when the Reaper arc wrapped). But I still liked the show well enough because the family dynamic between the agents was really great. Now, sadly, it doesn't seem like either thing is working. Though tonight's episode did have a good ending so maybe it's turning around?

YES! I'm intrigued by what the Haven writers are doing this season but I'm hesitant to say if I like it or not because I have no idea if it'll all come together at the end of the season. If it does, I think I'll end up loving this season but if it doesn't...

I haven't watched criminal minds in so long. sometimes i see cute gifsets on tumblr that are nice, but i don't really care about the cases anymore

I don't really think you're missing anything. Sad but true. If you want a team police show, watch Flashpoint instead. :D

I know! I don't think I'll know how I feel about Haven until I've seen the whole season. I'm not bored, though, so that's something.

yeah. i watched it til season 6, and then they took away rachel nichols from me (although we did get continuum!) and its just not the same.

i might be a little bored :D

They brought Prentiss back when Nichols left and Prentiss is my favourite, so I was happy about that, although I think they could have kept Nichols as well. But now it's not the same. Plus I think I'm bored with it.

Maybe it's time to stop watching?

Criminal Minds has been hard for me this season. I loved the team dynamic and how they were a family and everything, but I just don't care about the cases at all and everything has become really case based and the team interactions feel kind of forced to me? I don't know. For me everything kinda dropped off after the reaper arc, but there have been a handful of awesome episodes since.

I actually like Blake, I like the actress, I think she's cool all around. But we need to see more of her interacting with a team. Just once I would love an episode where we don't see the unsub until the team catches them. I think that's where it feels off to me: the show used to be about the team, catching unsubs. Now it's about unsubs, who the team catches. If that makes any sense.

I might have to try and find this Flashpoint you mentioned up above. I need a new team crime show. (Teen Wolf has become my family-feels show. I don't even know.)

Maybe they feel like they've run out of ways to explore the team dynamic? Although you'd think a new character would help with that, and they haven't really used Blake.

Flashpoint is awesome! It has a lot of the same compassion for victims and awareness of consequences that Criminal Minds has (or at least used to have), and a great team dynamic. It's on its last season right now, but that still gives you five seasons to catch up on. I think maybe it's available through Netflix in the U.S.?
