Stargate is the only megafandom I've ever been in. (I got into Due South for a while, but that was well after its fannish heyday.) It definitely has its upsides in terms of variety and specialization of challenges and communities--not to mention all of the information and resources!

I think the thing I miss most these days, however, is knowing I have an easy fallback in multi-fandom challenges. I keep bowing out of sign-ups because I'm not in the major fandoms these days and no one is asking for anything I want to write.
